Blueberry Bubble Tea (Fruit Boba Drink)
Blueberry Bubble Tea
Blueberry bubble tea is a great drink to have if a slight tart flavor is desired, with a little more sweetness. Blueberries are known to be a mild fruit, giving a slight presence to the taste. Just like other fruits, it depends on the time of season of when they are picked too, as some can actually be quite bland.
The blueberry syrup used to make this boba drink is found here:
Using the syrups over the powder mixes, has some advantages when mixing, as it is already in a liquid form for placing into your liquids, so it will mix easier. It takes 2 to 3 tablespoons of syrup per 16 ounces.
Boba Shop Help: Basic Ingredients for Making Blueberry Bubble Tea
These
are the basic ingredients needed to make the blueberry bubble tea at home,
or for your boba shop if you need help as a barista.
- Make your tea. The tea should be 2 teaspoons of the tea leaf flavor of your choice for every 16 ounces of water. Here are the tea leaf flavors for bubble tea.
- Place 5 to 6 ounces of cooked tapioca pearls per 16 ounces into the bottom of the cup.
- Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of blueberry syrup flavoring to the drink for every 16 ounces.
- Pour the tea, along with the milk (if you are making a milk tea) into the cup and shake, or mix it together.
- If you are adding milk to create a blueberry milk tea, then add 4 to 6 tablespoons of the milk tea powder mix, or use 7 to 8 ounces of milk with 8 ounces of tea.
- Add ice as needed.
Please refer to the guide to making the perfect tapioca pearls, and cooking tapioca pearls to ensure that your bubble tea drink has good flavor and texture.
Blueberry is a fruit flavor that couples well with other fruit flavors; especially other berry flavors; like raspberry, strawberry, and blackberries. The boba tea also goes well with lemon, which seems to enhance the taste of the mild blueberry flavor, giving it more tartness and sweetness without turning it into actual lemonade. Of course, to achieve this, lemon flavorings should be used in lesser amounts. It is highly recommended to try out, if the goal is to make the blueberry flavor more present.
It should be noted that there are fruit flavored bursting bobas that can be used in exchange for the traditional tapioca pearls. The types also include blueberry exploding boba, which is found here:
These can be eaten all by themselves as a juicy snack throughout the day, or added to your drink. If you are a blueberry fanatic, then this is a must have.
The beverage can be made into a smoothie, with the wide range of fruit flavors to choose from, and there is a special blueberry mix used for making them, found in the boba smoothies guide.
Flavors That Pair Well With Blueberry Bubble Tea
Besides the fruit flavors mentioned above, the blueberry bubble can be
mixed with mango milk teas, lavender, watermelon, and peach. Lavender
smells wonderful, has a floral taste, and it can be used without really
altering the color of the blue bubble tea. Ginger is great too as a
spice to compliment the drink. A blueberry chai drink could even be a
signature drink for your boba shop. All the pleasant aromas coming from
the mixture combinations, can really turn this drink into a passion.
Strawberry is a well accepted flavor that definitely is worth trying out as a blueberry strawberry milk tea. The strawberry bubble tea is found here, along with the strawberry boba.

Blueberry Milk Tea
Turning this drink into a milk tea dairy product is quite simple when using the milk tea powder. The milk tea mix is found in the guide to making milk tea, which is custom made for whipping together the base of boba drinks; with tea already included. Just make the mix first, and then add the blueberry syrup provided above to create a blueberry milk tea.
The milk will 'hide' some of the flavor, so adding a little more syrup, might be required.
Tea can be added in through steeping loose tea leaves, found in the tea section here. It will teach you how to steep them, and give information on what each tea tastes like.
Milk teas do normally include toppings as well. The teas will give more of a herbal taste with the blueberry, so ordinary tapioca pearls become a greater option, along with canned boba toppings like aloe vera. You can check those out here in the different types of boba toppings guide.
Hopefully this will get you on your way to making your blueberry boba tea, whether its at home, or at your boba shop as a boba barista.
