Yogurt Bubble Milk Tea & Smoothies Flavors
Yogurt Milk Tea
Yogurt milk tea is one of the best flavors for bubble tea. Real yogurt is made from live 'good' bacteria, in case you didn't know. It turns warm milk used into what you know as "Yogurt". However, using the flavoring mix, which will be provided here, you don't have to worry about that. Yes, that's right; there is a mix for bubble tea to easily make this boba drink! No need to strain yourself trying to form up a science lab in your boba shop, or home to produce your own yogurt (which takes atleast 8 hours anyways).
Yogurt is quite a thick substance, so putting it directly into your cup with tapioca pearls, and trying to drink this through a straw, wouldn't be the most functional way. Thus, the yogurt flavoring was made for bubble tea. A quick and easy mix that only requires 3 to 4 tablespoons per 16 ounces of fluid. The flavoring is located here:

Yorgurt by itself, is normally bland, but fruit flavors blend very well with this. There is an article here on creating boba smoothies using purées. Yogurt boba teas blend well with the purées, and it only requires a little bit of it to be added, to get the flavor. The best most popular fruit flavors to combine with yogurt bubble teas are: peach, strawberry, blueberry, lemon, and mango. Two of the flavors are top 10 picks for actual boba drinks! These are healthy additions to add to your chewy boba tea. Smoothies are made with fruits and veggies, and these are great picks.
The ingredients for yogurt boba smoothies are:
- Ice
- Milk (Preferably Coconut Milk)
- Purée flavor of your choice
- Yogurt Flavoring Mix
- Boba of your choice
All of these ingredients will be blended in a blender, except for the boba, which will be added last, once it is done.
Yogurt milk tea (if we aren't talking generally about the name 'milk tea' itself, because milk teas can be classified as any boba drink, even if it doesn't contain dairy) is dairy. Meaning that it naturally should be used with milk as the base for the powder. Tea can be added to it for extra flavor, but doesn't have to be. The milk of choice is the traditional whole milk, but if you want to keep the calories down, then almond milk, or coconut milk. Coconut milk is advised when making the yogurt boba smoothies, instead of regular milk.
The milk tea mix is found here in the 'how to make milk tea' guide, which will go over the correct proportions to add to your boba drink as well. As usual, all of this can be made from the comfort of your home, or in a boba shop as a barista in seconds. Quick ingredients is the way to go for convenience and times' sake.
The boba of choice to really push this beverage into yogurt overdrive is the yogurt bursting boba. The creation of this topping has been the best thing next to making and cooking tapioca pearls. They are ready to use straight out of the container! If you are looking for them; they are found here:
Combining the yogurt flavor with a different fruit flavored bursting boba is a good idea too. There are mango popping bobas, strawberry, and peach, which can be found in the top 10 bursting bobas article.
If you want to stick with plain Jane tapioca pearls (which is awesome too), then the most popular instant pearls are listed below, along with the longer cooked:
Guidance on cooking the pearls is found in the 'making the perfect tapioca pearls' guide; and additional options with cooking in the 'cooking tapioca pearls' guide.
How to Make Yogurt Bubble Tea with Powder
As stated earlier, 3 to 4 tablespoons of powder is enough for the ingredients to create the desired flavor for a 16oz drink. However, more or less can be added.
- First, make your base for your drink using the milk tea mix found in the 'how to make milk tea guide'.
- Then, add your yogurt powder flavoring into the base and mix it together.
- Finally, add your toppings (bursting boba, tapioca pearls, boba jelly, or canned topping) into your boba tea.
There are so many toppings to choose from, which can all be viewed in the 30 plus different types of boba toppings article. The canned toppings include healthy aloe vera, coffee jelly, and taro lumps (another tasty veggie similar to sweet potatoes).
All the loose tea leaf flavors are listed here for adding your own custom tea flavor to the drink.
