Dragonfruit (sometimes referred to as pitaya) didn't get its name because of the fruits ability to give you kung-fu skills. It comes from the appearance of the actual fruit looking like a real life, beautiful, tasty dragon egg that you're trying to steal from a fire breathing dragon. Of course if this was the case, and you did have kung-fu on your side, you're still not getting that egg.

The appearance of dragonfruit is gorgeous on the inside and outside, with a red color when mature (sometimes yellow) to the outer portions' egg-like shape, and green thorny looking 'scales' that appear as fire engulfing the fruit. Another masterpiece of God given to you. The inside is white on some versions, which resembles cookies and cream. Other types have a pinkish to deep dark red color.

The taste of dragonfruit bubble tea is sweet, with the taste of berries and kiwi, and the price to buy actual dragon fruit is quite expensive due to supply and demand. The price is around ten dollars for one piece of dragon fruit. Luckily the boba drink is made with syrup or a mix. The syrup and mix is found here:

The syrup is more suitable for a boba shop, while the mix is more suitable for making at home. The syrup requires 2 tablespoons for a 16 ounce drink, and the mix is 1 tablespoon for a 6 to 8 ounce drink. Smoothies can be created with the mix too, which can make around 18 drinks. For more ideas and ingredients for boba smoothies, check the bubble tea smoothies guide. The mix is also organic, which will fit nicely with the purées.

Making this with tea requires loose tea leaves, which is found in the tea section. There is help on steeping the tea leaves for your boba drink as well. The organic mix can really make a great all around healthy boba tea. Green tea would work the best with this.

The boba flavors that pair well with dragon fruit is:

Making a dragon fruit milk tea requires the milk tea mix, which is located here in the how to make milk tea guide. The milk tea mix is quick and easy, only requiring a few scoops to form the milk tea. The milk tea already has the most commonly used tea for bubble tea in it: black tea. It would form into a black milk tea, in which the mix or syrup can be added to form a dragonfruit milk tea.

The tapioca pearls, if you are using them, has to be cooked first before anything else. There is a guide here on creating the perfect tapioca pearls, and all the cooked boba type options to choose from. For more toppings besides the tapioca pearls, there are 30 plus boba options for your dragonfruit tea here.

Popping boba, or bursting/exploding boba is located in the top 10 best popping boba guide. This is a good selection for fruit teas, as most of the flavors for these are fruit flavors, with strawberry being the most popular of them all. The bursting boba can really juice up your dragon fruit bubble tea, and make this a personal or customer favorite. Highly recommended to try this out for your boba shop. It is quick and easy to make if the syrup/mix with popping pearls is used.

Any of these mixes can be made with water, coconut milk, milk tea, almond milk, soy milk, or whole milk as the ingredients. Have fun creating your dragon fruit boba drink!
