Vanilla Bubble Tea - The Great Boba Drink that isn't Common
Vanilla Bubble Tea
Vanilla bubble tea is a great flavored boba drink that isn't very common for a boba barista to make. Now of course, this would depend on the location, as some places may favor one flavor over another, but in general this flavor isn't accepted over at least ten others.
Some of those flavors include taro, brown sugar, almond, mango, peach, and matcha mentioned in my top 10 best boba flavors blog. In the post, which included a poll, it rallied up less than 2 votes from over 70 inputs.
For Coca-Cola, this would be unheard of, since vanilla is one of their best flavors besides the original.
Not to mention how well vanilla opens up so many options, and mixes so well with countless flavors. This is why this mix has been accepted into the boba world nonetheless, which you can find and purchase here:
Boba Shop Help: Basic Ingredients for Making Vanilla Bubble Tea
These
are the basic ingredients needed to make the vanilla bubble tea at home,
or for your boba shop if you need help as a barista.
- Make your tea. The tea should be 2 teaspoons of the tea leaf flavor of your choice for every 16 ounces of water. Here are the tea leaf flavors for bubble tea.
- Place 5 to 6 ounces of cooked tapioca pearls per 16 ounces into the bottom of the cup.
- Add 2 to 4 tablespoons (3 is recommended) of vanilla powder mix flavoring to the drink, or 2 to 4 tablespoons for the syrup.
- Pour the tea, along with the milk (if you are making a milk tea) into the cup and shake, or mix it together.
- If you are adding milk to create a vanilla milk tea, then add 4 to 6 tablespoons of the milk tea powder mix, or use 7 to 8 ounces of milk with 8 ounces of tea.
- Add ice as needed.
Please refer to the guide to making the perfect tapioca pearls, and cooking tapioca pearls to ensure that your bubble tea drink has good flavor and texture.
This choice I believe, opens up the door to spicing up some of the more healthy boba drinks, or vice versa, adding a spice to vanilla bubble tea. When it comes to mixing, it is kind of hard to go wrong if you use vanilla. Looking at the taro flavoring for instance, it has a slight vanilla-like flavor naturally on its own. This is one of the best flavors for bubble tea.
If vanilla is mixed with some other choices, like avocado, this can give more flavorful varieties to the more unpopular choices. Also, healthier topping choices besides the tapioca pearls becomes more appealing, when making boba tea drinks. A vanilla red bean boba, personally sounds pretty good.
I have seen some excellent combinations, like the raspberry vanilla or almond vanilla. If anything, the vanilla makes a perfect secondary to the primary mix.
Chocolate is another unpopular choice, taken over by Thai Milk Tea, but mixed with vanilla, could definitely create a tasty combination. Chocolate vanilla would be comprised of two of the most used flavors, into a boba drink. Both flavors are used all throughout the season, in hot and cold weather. They make great choices for any late night snack too.
Then there is the coffees and milkshake bobas that can be made from these. Making the drink into a coffee can provide the caffeine needed to get through the day, and milkshakes are just plain good. I can't help myself when it comes to milkshakes. All is needed is a blender, ice, and milk with vanilla, and congratulations milkshakes are a step away.
If you would like to check out more mixing ideas, look into the syrups section and the powder mix section. There are so many things to have fun with and create.
Chocolate popping pearls would be a good topping for the boba. It doesn't require any cooking, but if you prefer regular tapioca pearls, there is the instant pack that all of people recommend here:
