How Much Is A Bubble Tea Sealing Machine?

How Much Are Bubble Tea Sealing Machines?

The Best Bubble Tea Sealing Machines

The price of a bubble tea sealing machine can range from just under $200 to a little over $1000. Some of the reasons for the varying price ranges is because, not every sealing machine is the same. They will either be fully automatic, semi automatic, or completely manual. Some are sturdier than others, and have less problems in the long run. Depending on the approach taken in making boba drinks, the fully automatic might be desired more than a manual or semi automatic bubble tea sealing machine.

Here are best cheap bubble tea sealing machines worth buying for putting the finishing mark on your boba drinks.

The WantJoin cup sealing machine is fully automatic, meaning that it basically completes all the steps of feeding the cup, rolling the cup, sealing the film unto the cup, and ejecting it once it is done, after the cup is placed into the machine. It can seal up to 600 bubble tea drinks within an hour, and has a speed adjustment setting that can be changed manually.

The sealing temperature can be changed on the LCD pad for better sealing.

This has been picked as the #1 best bubble tea sealing machine based off of customer reviews from boba shop owners that have bought this. The pricing is good for what you get, and it is cheaper than other models that do the same thing.

The only problem reported for this was trouble sealing the actual film unto the cup, which was fixed by buying the correct sealing film, and making sure that it is facing the right way and lined up correctly. It is fully automatic after all, so make sure everything is set up correctly!

It also comes with a manual switch to seal up any leaks manually if all else fails. This is a sturdy, excellent, all around sealing machine to have for a boba shop. The fact that it is automatic can save time, money, and labor over time. It seals both paper and plastic cups.

It can seal large cups up to 7 inches in height (177mm) and works on cups with a mouth diameter of 90mm and 95mm.

This is the cheapest bubble tea cup sealing machine, with great durability, and made with stainless steel. It is lightweight, only weighing 30 pounds, but you get what you pay for, as it is manual. It can seal up 400 cups per hour.

It's not the prettiest, but it is the best sealing machine to have for a boba shop that needs to keep their budget tight and doesn't mind doing some manual work. Its lightweight makes it suitable for food trucks or home business too.

It is electronic, so it has to be plugged in. It also includes a power switch, temperature adjustment, and a counter to count the number of cups sealed.

It comes with a huge lever on the side that allows manual usage. Just like the previous machine, the correct film and proper placement will ensure properly sealed cups. It seals both paper and plastic cups. It works for cups with a mouth diameter of 90mm and 95mm, and a maximum height of 7 inches (177mm)

This cup sealer is semi automatic, and is cheaper than the WantJoin, but more expensive than the Kouda brand. It comes with a knob to adjust the temperature, but doesn't include the counter like the WantJoin model and the Kouda model. It is a little more limited than the first 2, but does an excellent job sealing PP cups and 95mm cups.

Though the maximum cup height that can fit into this machine is 5.91 inches (150mm) it only works for cups with a mouth diameter of 95mm. It isn't as sturdy as the other brands, but it gets the job done.

The film needs to be the correct film for the cup type, and placed on correctly to seal properly. The maximum amount of cups sealed is 500 per hour.

How Do They Seal Bubble Tea?

Bubble tea cups are sealed by placing the cup into the ring (cup holder) at the base of the bubble tea sealing machine after the machine is heated up to the correct temperature for the cup type and sealer film used. The heat then makes a peelable seal on top of the cup, which prevents spillage and makes it easy for boba drinks, coffees, smoothies, and other beverages to be mixed (shaken) before consumption. Though the sealant is peelable, the most common way to break the seal is by puncturing the top with a special boba straw that has a pointy diagonal end designed for this when making bubble tea.

Here is a chart for the temperatures of each type of cup that the sealing machine needs to reach in order to seal the cup effectively. Below are different types of plastic used to make drinking cups. If the correct temperature isn't reached when attempting to seal it with film, then it may not seal effectively. The plastic for the film needs to be considered as well. Getting the same type of plastic for both the film and the cup is a good idea.

  • PP Cups or Polypropylene requires the temperatures to reach 170 degrees Celsius to 200 degrees Celsius. This would be 338 degrees Fahrenheit to 392 degrees Fahrenheit to seal effectively.

  • PET/PETE Cups or Polyethylene terephthalate (Polyester) requires the temperatures to reach 160 degrees Celsius to 200 degrees Celsius. This would be 320 degrees Fahrenheit to 392 degrees Fahrenheit to seal effectively.

  • PE Cups or Polyethylene (The most commonly used plastic of them all) requires temperatures to reach 170 degrees Celsius to 190 degrees Celsius. This would be 338 degrees Fahrenheit to 374 degrees Fahrenheit to seal effectively.

How Does A Cup Sealer Work?

As mentioned, it relies on the heat produced to meld the film unto the cup in order to create a seal which keeps the boba drink from spilling all over the place.

The bubble tea cup sealing machine has to be heated up first to the desired temperature after the film is set up and fed through the machine. The bubble tea machine has a heating up phase, and a warming stage that consists after it is heated to keep it at the right temperature. There are also configurations to adjust how long the machine presses down unto the plastic cup when sealing. If the temp is right, it normally only takes 2 to 3 seconds to put an airtight seal on the cup. Of course, the quality of the machine will determine how many cups per hour can be sealed.

First the film has to be set up unto the machine. There are two rollers, which are normally located on the top of the machine. One side is where the film roll will be positioned, and then it is fed through the machine, through the middle where the sealing occurs, and then eventually connects to the other roller, which acts as a holder to keep the film straight, firm, and secure. This is done while the machine is off and isn't heated to prevent unnecessary injuries.

When the machine is ready and has everything adjusted correctly, then the cup is set into the metal ring, and is held by a platform that sits below the ring. This is where the cup will rest. The platform and the ring move together to, and go in towards the machine and the film, where the sealing starts. Automatic and semi automatic bubble tea sealing machines have sensors that cause the heating element to press down putting a seal unto the cup. Then the platform and ring will return outwards again allowing the cup to be taken from the ring.

The seal on the cup is good enough that the cup can be placed upside down without spilling, making it mobile and convenient. This can also create a tamper proof seal.
