Rose (Floral) Bubble Tea

Rose Bubble Tea

Rose Bubble Tea Picture

Rose bubble tea is mainly sweet to the taste, with a great scent to its floral taste, just like most flowers have. Roses in general vary in taste, with the darker roses having the most sweetness and flavor. There are more than 30,000 types. There has been some phobia of eating roses, because it is something that is not commonly done in the U.S., but they are edible, and safe. Most people need to get 'used to' something they have never tried before, and typically approach with caution. This is a normal human response to just anything.

Roses taste can range from mint, spicy, and woody, besides the general sweet taste. When roses are eaten, they can be surprisingly watery in the mouth. While eating the petals is more typical, the entire rose can be consumed, including the stem. Of course, here we are not going to teach you how to put petals and stems in your bubble tea. Instead, you can purchase a flavored syrup custom made for making the rose bubble tea, located here:

The syrup is just right for making rose bubble tea; not too sweet, with the focus on the authentic taste of roses and its scent. The scent isn't overwhelming, but present. It is thick like molasses (another form of syrup made from sugar beets or sugar cane), but customer love it, and it is great for desserts too. However, just like any syrup or sweetener, if you use too much for your boba drink, it can end up too sweet. Start with 2 to 3 tablespoons per 16 ounce, then add or take away after testing it for yourself.

Torani also has a smaller bottle of this here:

This one is loved just as much as the first, only it's smaller. It mixes better right after brewing the tea when it's warm.

Boba Shop Help: Basic Ingredients for Making Rose Bubble Tea

These are the basic ingredients needed to make the rose bubble tea at home, or for your boba shop if you need help as a barista.

  1. Make your tea. The tea should be 2 teaspoons of the tea leaf flavor of your choice for every 16 ounces of water. Here are the tea leaf flavors for bubble tea.
  2. Place 5 to 6 ounces of cooked tapioca pearls per 16 ounces into the bottom of the cup.
  3. Add 2 to 3 tablespoons rose syrup flavoring to the drink for every 16 ounces.
  4. Pour the tea, along with the milk (if you are making a milk tea) into the cup and shake, or mix it together.
  5. If you are adding milk to create a rose milk tea, then add 4 to 6 tablespoons of the milk tea powder mix, or use 7 to 8 ounces of milk with 8 ounces of tea.
  6. Add ice as needed.

Please refer to the guide to making the perfect tapioca pearls, and cooking tapioca pearls to ensure that your bubble tea drink has good flavor and texture.

The rose boba would be a great idea for a boba shop special near Valentines Day. The rose, among other flowers, has always been a symbol of love for a special someone. The drink itself is already red, and the fragrance would be admired by the ladies. Hint: this could even be apart of a valentines day present.

This definitely would be a change from just the regular flowers. Rose bubble tea with flavors would be pretty spontaneous and creative.

Flavors That Pair Well With Rose Bubble Tea

The flavors that go well with rose bubble will be listed below, but most found that rose lemon (lemonade) boba tea, rose matcha, and rose green tea were the best.

  • Matcha
  • Green Tea
  • Lemon
  • Chocolate
  • Almond
  • Pomegranate
  • Lychee
  • Raspberry
  • Strawberry
  • Vanilla

All of these boba flavors are found in the boba list. These flavors can be mixed with the powders and syrups for the others, but be careful with the amount used for each flavor, so it doesn't come out too sweet. Chocolate rose boba would go well for a romantic event, as mentioned above. Lychee is a good versatile flavor that mixes well with tropical fruits. Strawberry is very popular in the U.S. Matcha is a finer version of the green tea.

Here are the tea leaf flavors for green tea, matcha, and more.

If you need the tapioca pearls to go with this, then check the tapioca section for the cooked ones. Popping Boba is available in mostly fruit flavors, with the exception of chocolate bursting boba. The oats topping also goes well with this.
