Rainbow Bubble Tea The Colorful Boba
Rainbow Bubble Tea
There are two main types of rainbow boba teas that I wanted to go over. There is the Butterfly Pea Flower drink, and the one using the rainbow boba. When boba drinks are made, it is pretty common for boba shops to place one flavor into a cup and then place another on top of it without mixing it, and seal it with a sealing machine. The bubble tea will look like a 'rainbow' with its multiple layers of stacked colors, but then that could be done with any boba drink. Most bubble teas are made with more than just one flavor. It looks really delicious, and appealing to consumers, followed by snapshots of it to post on social media.
When the beverage is made this way, it is intended to be mixed together first, before consumption. Some might find it fun however; to drink one layer at a time, but this normally isn't done. The different flavors are added to create a tasty mix of personal favorites. There are thousands of combinations that can be made with the wide variety of choices. They can have many hues of colors blending in with each section, creating boba artwork.
Butterfly Pea Flower Bubble Tea
However, the actual rainbow bubble tea (atleast one of them) is the Butterfly Pea Flower. It is made from butterfly pea flower tea leaves, and naturally gives the hues of different blues and purples; making it resemble a portion of the rainbow in the cup. No food coloring or any other artificial additives are used to achieve this color. It comes naturally from the flower itself, with a great aroma. You can find the tea leaves for this here:
The ingredients for making this bubble tea at home is:
- A topping of Jelly, Popping Boba, or Cooked Tapioca Pearls
Rainbow Boba Tea
The rainbow boba tea is the next, with the rainbow jelly, or popping boba being used as the topping. This one is very versatile and simple, as all is needed is the boba, which can be placed into any drink to make it a rainbow boba tea. It should be noted however that, despite the word 'tea' being used here, that it doesn't have to actually include tea. Mixing fruit flavors into herbal teas, might not be desired.
All the rainbow bobas have a mixture of fruits, mainly the lychee and the mango. Strawberry is also found the boba jelly. Mango, passion fruit, lychee, strawberry, and pineapple are the flavors included in the bursting boba. If you ever wanted to taste an actual rainbow after a rainy, this is what it tastes like. Very fun type to have for a kids birthday party, or your own. The boba drinks would match well for the theme, and any other event like the fair. The experience of the different fruit flavors bursting in the mouth upon consumption is awesomeness.
The rainbow toppings are great for smoothies, since they typically come with a mixture of fruits and veggies anyways. This in it, would increase the variety of assortments. Fruit boba milkshakes and smoothies would be the way to go in hot weather.
Now you know how to make colorful bubble tea! Of course, if you find the layered way of making your drinks, by having multiple sections appealing, then all you would have to do is whip together your first powder mix, place it in, then rinse and repeat. Each one would have to be made separately, and then placed in as sections. Once it is placed in the cup, then it shouldn't be shaken or mix, or it will mess up the rainbow effect.
Matcha is a commonly used ingredient at home and in boba shops, to make the green color. Plus it tastes really good! Purple is made naturally from taro. Orange and yellow comes from mango and banana. There is the butterfly pea flower for the blue, raspberry for the red, and indigo is kind of the odd ball, but I think you get the picture.
