Almond Milk Tea & Bubble Tea

Almond milk tea is one of the top 10 most popular boba drinks listed in another article that I made. There are two primary ways to make this beverage, with almond milk, and without the milk. Both will give the desired results, but will have different textures and taste. To get the best of both worlds, you can make it with the almond mix and milk together.

The texture is more creamy than some of the other bubble teas, and it is considered to be a veggie drink type. The milk is not made from the same milk one would get from cows. It comes from real almonds grown from the ground. Despite it being creamier, the almond milk contain less calories than whole milk and some other milk types. Of course it will still contain small amounts of proteins, which nuts are rich in.

Almond Milk Tea can be consumed as a 'protein shake' if you will, before or after a workout. Of course this is a discussion about bubble tea, not whether it's best to have food before or after a workout, so here is the different ways to make it.

If you need the powder mix to make the milk tea, then you can find it here:

How to Make the Almond Milk Tea

Making the almond milk tea the correct way requires the bubble tea powder given above. For the milk tea, there is a popular easy to use mix located in the 'how to make milk tea' guide. It has black tea already in it. They are made specifically for the beverages, and really only require adding the mix to (preferably hot) water or milk, stirring or shaking it to mix it, and done. The hot fluid will make the powder mix better, then you can add ice to have it chill put a bit. It takes around 2 to 3 tablespoons of the mixture in every 5 ounces of fluid for the desired results. Of course you can add more or less as needed for your personal taste preferences.

It is really that simple if you are using the mix. You have to keep in mind that there are boba shops that whip these bad boys together in seconds. You can use actual almond milk with it if you like at your home, but it probably would eat into your pockets, especially if you are making them for customers with the addition of the milk. The thing to remember is that high quality isn't just about the materials used, but satisfying the needs of the consumer if possible. If the almond milk is used in conjunction with this, it might also smother the taste a little, so more powder mix might be needed.

If this is being made into a boba tea, then that means you will need tapioca pearls or toppings to be placed in the beverage. You can check the 30 plus boba toppings listed here, which includes the canned toppings,  and taro lumps that would combine well with the almond tea. People often overlook the wide selection of toppings used to enhance their custom made boba drinks. There are so many to choose from, that can add a fruity flavor, veggie flavor, or more sweetness to your drink.

If you opted out of the milk tea mix with the back tea mentioned above, then a milk tea or bubble tea can't be a milk tea or bubble tea without the tea. Check the tea leaves guide for a listing of all the leaf types to steep for your boba drink. It's cool to have so many selection to choose from. Oolong, black tea, and green tea are all good picks, with the black being the heaviest, and the green tea the lighter choice. Oolong tea is kind of in the middle of both.
