Lychee Milk Tea
Lychee Bubble Milk Tea
Lychee is a Asian tropical fruit that grows in warm climates mostly in Asia. The outside of the fruit has an alligator skin appeal, with a darkish red color. However, the inside is pure white and smooth like the texture of a grape, with a giant oval shaped seed hidden in the middle.
This tropical fruit has made it into the list of boba flavors, because of its unique sweet taste. The lychee flavoring can be found in the form of boba jellies, syrups, and popping boba. The jellies are placed at the bottom of the drink before adding the tea, which can be any flavor the consumer chooses.
Lychee mixes well with other fruit flavors, unlike others, and it is also included in the rainbow jellies with strawberry and mango. The fruit may not be familiar to most Americans, but it definitely makes a good milk tea.
Here is some of the combinations that can be made with the jellies, bursting boba, and syrups.
If you would like to purchase the syrups and sweeteners available to mix and make Lychee Milk Tea, then go here:
Note: 2 to 3 tablespoons of syrup or sweetener should be enough for a 16oz drink. Add or take away as needed.
Boba Shop Help: Basic Ingredients for Making Lychee Bubble Tea
These
are the basic ingredients needed to make the lychee bubble tea at home,
or for your boba shop if you need help as a barista.
- Make your tea. The tea should be 2 teaspoons of the tea leaf flavor of your choice for every 16 ounces of water. Here are the tea leaf flavors for bubble tea.
- Place 5 to 6 ounces of cooked tapioca pearls per 16 ounces into the bottom of the cup.
- Add 2 to 3 tablespoons (3 is recommended) of lychee syrup flavoring to the drink.
- Pour the tea, along with the milk (if you are making a milk tea) into the cup and shake, or mix it together.
- If you are adding milk to create a lychee milk tea, then add 4 to 6 tablespoons of the milk tea powder mix, or use 7 to 8 ounces of milk with 8 ounces of tea.
- Add ice as needed.
Please refer to the guide to making the perfect tapioca pearls, and cooking tapioca pearls to ensure that your bubble tea drink has good flavor and texture.
1. Lychee Milk Tea
The first is the lychee milk tea, which strictly speaking, is just lychee syrup and milk tea. If you would like to know how to make milk tea the easiest way, then check out that post. It will provide an easy mixture that only takes seconds to make.
This one would be without the tapioca pearls, but they can be cooked and added into the boba tea if needed.
Check out the how to cook tapioca pearls section if you need help cooking them, and the making the perfect tapioca pearls post.
If you are making the milk tea from scratch, then whole milk is preferred, or coconut milk. The tea flavoring can be any of the loose tea leaves of your choice. Check the tea leaf section for more help, if needed.
What you will need:
- Lychee syrup or sweetener
- Milk (preferably coconut milk or whole milk)
- Tea flavoring of your choice.
2. Lychee Boba Tea
Lychee boba tea is a great choice if you want to add lychee as a boba, instead of tapioca pearls, into another bubble tea flavor. For instance, you can create a strawberry bubble tea and put lychee jelly or popping pearls into the drink for boba.
This is done quite often, as individuals really love the boba jellies, especially the speed and efficiency of service. Check out the popping pearls section for the lychee boba, and the jellies section for the jelly.
What you would need:
- Popping Pearls or Boba Jelly
3. Lychee Milk
I always include this one into the list, since it is the fastest to make, while still giving the flavoring of tropical fruit that you want. This one is nothing but the lychee flavoring, and milk; or just milk with lychee jelly or pearls.
The lychee jelly/pearls is the quickest to make by simply grabbing a glass of milk, and placing the bursting boba into it.
The other way is to take your glass of milk and mix lychee syrup into it.
Neither one of these would require brewing tea or cooking boba pearls into chewy boba. A quick healthy snack to have when you've got to run (no pun intended).
What you need:
- Lychee Syrup
- Milk
or
- Lychee Popping Pearls or Jelly
- Milk
4. Lychee Tea
Lychee Tea focuses on the lychee syrup, and the tea flavoring. There are many tea flavors to choose from; like the jasmine green tea leaves and the assam black tea leaves. It will bring out the tea flavoring of whichever is brewed; to create a unique taste combined with the syrup.

What you will need:
- Tea loose leaf of your choice
- Lychee Syrup
5. Lychee Bubble Tea Smoothie, Milkshake, or Slush
This is for making an ice cold lychee flavored bubble tea with the sweetener. You would just make a smoothie, milkshake, or slush the normal way; only with the lychee sweetener included as the flavoring. Boba would be added afterwards, but of course not in the blender when blending.
A lychee drink can also be made with the other boba toppings listed above.
What you will need:
- Lychee Syrup
- Water or Milk (milk if you are making a Lychee Milkshake)
- Ice
- Boba (if you want to add chewy bobas to your drink for extra fun and flavor)
